Passenger traffic on Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport increased in the first quarter of 2017 by almost 60% over, compared with the same period of 2016. Thus, in January, February and March 2017 there were registered 516.953 passengers, compared with 324.096 passengers in Q1 2016.
Also, a significant rise is recorded in aircraft’s movements. In the first quarter of 2017, there were 5.615 airplanes that tookoff or landed, 55% more than the same period of 2016.
The highest increase is recorded by the cargo transport. Data shows an increase by 79%.
It is estimated that in 2017 the passenger traffic will be between 2,7 and 3 million passengers.
Cluj Airport is the second one in the country, regarding the number of passengers embarked/disembarked, after Bucharest “Henri Coandă” International Airport.
