Mr. David Ciceo, General Manager of Cluj “Avram Iancu” International Airport, has been invited as speaker at one of the most prestigious international conferences regarding aviation, "Passenger Terminal EXPO & CONFERENCE 2017".
Avram Iancu, whose name also bears Cluj International Airport, was declared "Hero of the Romanian Nation". On Thursday, President Klaus Johannis promulgated a law that provides this title for whom fought for the freedom of the Romanians in Transylvania. The International Airport "Avram Iancu" Cluj bears this name since October, 2013.
Today, February 25th, 2016, it is organized at Băile Felix, Bihor County, the first 2016 General Directors workshop of airports members of Romania Airports Association (R.A.A.) and the associated representatives’ members of R.A.A.
Cluj-Napoca, 15 February 2016: Wizz Air launches today twice-weekly flights between its base at Cluj-Napoca and Munich Memmingen in Bavaria. Wizz Air announced the route last September as part of its 2016 Summer Schedule.

Cluj-Napoca, February 7, 2016: Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport announces that starting with May 23rd, 2016, Lufthansa airline will increase the flights number on Cluj-Napoca - Munich - Cluj-Napoca route with five frequencies / week compared to the current operating program, for the winter season. The route will be operated on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday after the following schedule:
Cluj-Napoca, 19 of January 2016: Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport announces that, starting from 22 July 2016, a new flight will be operated on the route Cluj-Napoca - Bucharest Otopeni, by Wizz Air airline.
Cluj - Napoca, the 4th November, 2015: Beginning with the 15th November 2015, the airline company Tarom will increase the number of flights on the route Bucharest (Otopeni) - Cluj - Bucharest (Otopeni) with a total of nine frequencies / week compared with the current operating schedule for the winter season.
Cluj Napoca, 29th September 2015: In the General Assembly of the Romania Airports Association, David Ciceo, Managing Director of Cluj ”Avram Iancu” International Airport was re-elected president of this association.
Thursday, October 22, 2015, Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport hosted a large-scale training exercise very important for airport activities. Starting at 09:30 in the airport perimeter in airside, institutions with responsibilities in case of an emergency at the airport participated in this exercise with all forces and means provided.
Starting with 25th October 2015, Lufthansa flights from Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport to Munich destination, operated with 14 regular flights / week, will be operated by the air carrier Air Dolomiti, part of Lufthansa Group.
