Cluj “Avram Iancu” International Airport R.A. recorded in 2016 the highest number of passengers ever. Last year, the traffic on Cluj Airport was 1,880,319 passengers - 394,667 more than in 2015 (+ 26.56%).

Avram Iancu, whose name also bears Cluj International Airport, was declared "Hero of the Romanian Nation". On Thursday, President Klaus Johannis promulgated a law that provides this title for whom fought for the freedom of the Romanians in Transylvania. The International Airport "Avram Iancu" Cluj bears this name since October, 2013.
These days, the 26th Conference and the General Assembly of the Airports Council International - Europe (ACI Europe) was held in Athens. The meeting was preceded by ACI Europe Board meeting which has as member-staff Mr. David CICEO, General Manager of Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport.

Cluj-Napoca, 15 February 2016: Wizz Air launches today twice-weekly flights between its base at Cluj-Napoca and Munich Memmingen in Bavaria. Wizz Air announced the route last September as part of its 2016 Summer Schedule.

Cluj-Napoca, 19 of January 2016: Cluj "Avram Iancu" International Airport announces that, starting from 22 July 2016, a new flight will be operated on the route Cluj-Napoca - Bucharest Otopeni, by Wizz Air airline.
Cluj - Napoca, the 4th November, 2015: Beginning with the 15th November 2015, the airline company Tarom will increase the number of flights on the route Bucharest (Otopeni) - Cluj - Bucharest (Otopeni) with a total of nine frequencies / week compared with the current operating schedule for the winter season.
