New flight restrictions

Dear passengers, Regarding the Military Ordinance No. 7 form April 4th 2020, we inform you that starting with April 5th 2020, flights from Romania to and from Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Ireland, Turkey and Iran will be suspended for a period of 14 days. The measure applies from 05.04.2020 at 23:00, Romanian time.

Essential aspects related to the management of airports development projects were discussed by Mr. David Ciceo, the Managing Director of Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport, at the 7th Orat World Conference (Training Operational and Airport Transfer (for Operation) held in Dubai from 24th to 27th of February. Airport development projects, the extension and the upgrade of their operational capacity present important challenges due to their high degree of complexity that they entail, the technical requirements which have to be respected, the number of beneficiaries to be taken into account and, last but not least, the need to involve a very large number of public and private organizations and in a broader way, of the community which has to be served.

Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport took the first measures regarding the new type of coronavirus. Cluj Airport supports its passengers both by distributing information materials about coronavirus and through the medical services that are constantly at Cluj Airport. For this purpose, several information notices were displayed at the departure and arrivals terminals, the information office area, the medical office and the areas of the airport check-in counters for preventing the new type of coronavirus.

At the meeting of the Management Board of the Airport Council International Europe, held yesterday, January 22nd, in Brussels, Mr. David Ciceo, the Managing Director of Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport and the president of the Romanian Airports Association, was elected to the team of 7 members representing the organization on the International Management Council of the Airport Council International.

CLUJ AVRAM IANCU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS AUTHORISED FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF PET ANIMALS INTO THE TERRITORY OF ROMANIA FROM THIRD COUNTRIES

CLUJ AVRAM IANCU INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IS AUTHORISED FOR THE INTRODUCTION OF PET ANIMALS INTO THE TERRITORY OF ROMANIA FROM THIRD COUNTRIES Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport has been authorised for the introduction into Romania of pet animals from third countries for the purposes of non-commercial movement. Following the steps made by Cluj Airport to the National Sanitary Veterinary and Food Safety Authority and the implemented measures, it was issued and published in the Official Journal of Romania Nr. 1056/31.12.2019, Order of the President of the National Sanitary Veterinary Authority and Food Safety No. 132/2019 of 7 November 2019 for the modification of the veterinary health norm on sanitary veterinary conditions for introducing into Romania pet animals coming from third countries, for the purposes of non-commercial and the veterinary control procedure of such animals at the boarding points, approved by Order of President A.N.S.V.S.A No. 98/2015, following which, from January 2020 to Cluj Airport, pets coming from third countries may be introduced. Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport is the first regional airport of the country to offer such a facility to its passengers. Currently, pets from third countries can be introduced in Romania, by air, only through Cluj Avram Iancu International Airport and Henri Coandă Bucharest International Airport, the only two airports in Romania that meet the conditions and rules laid down in the EU regulations on the commercial movement of pet animals from third countries. On the occasion of the 27th Conference and General Meeting of the Romanian Airports Association, which took place in Sibiu, on October 24-25, the Romanian Airports Association members invested Mr. David Ciceo with a new mandate to lead the association.
