Thematic Exhibitions

Until now, a series of thematic exhibitions were organized at Cluj „Avram Iancu” International Airport in collaboration with schools from Cluj:

Flight and childhood - the first event in a series of artistic events, that Cluj airport has proposed to organize in collaboration with schools and young artists from the county, included works in watercolors, drawings and airplanes models of some talented students from the High School "Balcescu" and the Children's Palace.



Santa Clause is coming - exhibition organized throughout December, including approximately 200 works in watercolors and drawings of the students of I - VIII year, from International School of Cluj and "Ion Creanga" school Cluj-Napoca.





Transylvania icon Show - exhibition held during the winter holidays at the airport. Over 30 glass and wood icons were made available for us by County Center for Preservation and Promotion of Traditional Culture Cluj.




Snow Wings - exhibition launched in the late January 2012, comprising works in watercolor and drawing of I-VIII years students from several schools in Cluj: Cluj-Napoca Elf School, the Cara School with the grades I-VIII, Cojocna School with grades I-VIII, Rascruci School with the grades I-VIII , Christian School "Pro Deus" Cluj-Napoca, "Liviu Rebreanu" School with the grades I-VIII Cluj-Napoca.




Traditional Transylvanian village - a project of collaboration with the Ethnographic Museum, including images from the museum's archive of negatives, dating from the '20s - '30s.





Martisor exhibition at Cluj „Avram Iancu” International Airport - including about 200 drawings, watercolors and collage works in bright colors with specific spring season themes, performed by students of the Coşbuc National College Cluj-Napoca, International School Cluj and Cojocna School with the grades I-VIII.

 Exhibition ArtImage Cluj-Napoca - "Destinations by objective"

 At Cluj Avram Iancu” International Airport you can visit during the period 24 April to 20 May  2013 exhibition of works "Destinations by objective" .It combines a collection of images and special photos with destinations available from Cluj „Avram Iancu” International Airport, great locations worldwide and artistic photos.

The opening is made in the space between terminals, ground and first floor of the airport, in collaboration with the ArtImage Cluj-Napoca, which promotes local community image nationally and internationally, and through it Cluj „Avram Iancu” International Airport maintains interest in the activity visual arts and cultural education carried out.


 "Santa Claus at the airport" - Cluj"Avram Iancu" International Airport  hosts in the connecting body, 1st floor, an exhibition of drawings that will take you into the magical story of the holidays. The exhibition is available during 06.12.2014-15.01.2015 and includes approximately 130 original works describing the arrival of "Santa Claus at the airport". The drawings are made by pupils of I-VIII from Secondary School Baciu, Iuliu School Hateganu, Children's Palace and Transylvania College.


Anniversary exhibitions

Cluj „Avram Iancu” International Airport celebrated in 2012, 80 years of its establishment. On this occasion, from April 2 to May 6, 2012, were organized two exhibitions:

Pages of Romanian aviation history - exhibition organized in collaboration with the National Museum of Romanian Aviation and which included montages of photos and documents, tridimensional original items as well as antiques belonging to Cluj airport.







Cluj „Avram Iancu” International Airport: one day, a plane ticket, many journeys!- The exhibition has combined an impressive collection of photographs, made by professionals from Romanian Spotters with scale models of aircraft constructed by the team members of Transylvania Model Army.





Cluj “Avram Iancu” International Airport and Romanian Association for Propaganda and History of Aeronautics Cluj has organized the photo exhibition "Contemporary Romanian Aviation", open space between the two passenger terminals.

It brings together 526 images, extremely spectacular, offered by the Cluj “Avram Iancu” International Airport, the Romanian Association for Propaganda and History of Aeronautics Cluj, the Romanian Air Force Staff and the 71st Air Base Campia Turzii, the General Inspectorate of Aviation MIA Romanian Air Club, IAR Brasov, Brasov Airbus Helicopters International Airport "Mihail Kogalniceanu" Constanta, Transylvania Spotters.

You will have the opportunity to see fighter planes, sports, helicopters, gliders and paratroopers, both in individual development and in formation, commercial missions, rescue, firefighting.

Some of the illustrations have taken international awards and were selected for the aviation collection of National Geographic Channel.
