Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport celebrates 10 years since the start of LOT Polish Airlines operations
Cluj-Napoca, March 25, 2026: Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport and the Cluj County Council, in partnership with Poland's national air operator, LOT Polish Airlines, mark an important moment in the development of air connectivity in the Transylvania region, namely 10 years since the start of LOT's operations at the Cluj airport.
The strategic partnership between LOT Polish Airlines and Cluj International Airport first materialized on March 30, 2016, with the launch of regular flights to the company's hub in Warsaw. Throughout this decade, the constant operation of this route has offered Transylvanian passengers easy access to an extensive network of international destinations, contributing to the development of mobility, economic, tourist and diplomatic exchanges between Romania and the Republic of Poland.
This anniversary was marked by an official event that brought together representatives of local and regional public administration, the aviation industry, institutional partners and media representatives. During the event, the solid collaboration between Cluj International Airport and LOT Polish Airlines, as well as its important contribution to the development and consolidation of the region's air connectivity, were highlighted.
At the same time, the event brought to the forefront flights to the capital of Poland, Warsaw, which make it possible to connect to one of the most important European hubs, offering easy access to destinations in Europe, North America or Asia, for all types of traffic.
From Cluj International Airport, flights to Warsaw are operated 6 times a week, with the exception of Tuesdays. From the summer season S26, the airline increases the frequencies and will operate daily flights, respectively 9 flights will be operated per week, from Monday to Sunday, and on Wednesdays and Thursdays there will be even two flights per day Cluj-Warsaw and return, Warsaw-Cluj, according to the schedule presented below.
